75

I do not like to use this space for politics but it happens from time to time that something is so strange or unbelievable a Tweet is not enough space to air the big “?” flying around in my brain. So today and tomorrow it will be politics.

The age of retirement is up for discussion again in Sweden (Also in Macron France, so I guess in all of Europe) and this time the suggestion is retirement when 75 years.

So far no discussion if this is all the population or just within some professions but I guess its all over, tout le monde, cause the suggestion comes from the former Prime Minister in Sweden, Mr Reinfeldt who for sure had a really stressful job but still behind a desk, driven around in a car eating well prepared free meals at conferences and meetings without any thoughts on running from work to try to get the kids out of daycare before they close (in the middle of winter when the commuter trains standing still).

Most likely the stress as Prime Minister is another kind of pressure than years of heavy lifts in the health care business, construction or the industry at a assembly line.

I am lucky to have a desk job, even if my back already start to ache and the eyes get dry from looking at a computer screan all day it’s not even close to the injuries on the body of a care assistant after 45 years in the profession. And when I already feel (I have 10 years at least left to work before retirement) that I start to look forward to that day I can only guess how people with physical labor feel hearing that they need to work 10 more years!

Then there is others who still is healthy and want to work longer, so let them, no one should be forced to retire but let it be from their free will.

And seriously, would you like to hear from a cockpit that “Today our Captain celebrates his 74 birthday” or “Your surgeon just clean up and prepare for the surgery, it is his 74 birthday tomorrow by the way” Is that a professions where 75 is a good age to retire? Or is the 75 only good for the once at the end of the working life food chain?

The same Mr Reinfeldt, when he were in power said that the pension system will be saved by an free immigration to Sweden, open borders and everyone will of course get a job on day 2 from their arrival. So far good, if it was true. Immigrants do not find work as soon as they arrive and when so called “simple jobs” are taken out from the loop of professions (taken over by technology) less find work fast. And now the new liberal movement continue this open border politics and add “Family reunion” so the pension system will be under even more pressure from 65+ not finding a job and work to 75 must be provided for by tax money.

The theory don’t add up in my mind and the open border liberal idea gets more and more extreme and seriously the liberals today look more and more as one of the most extreme movements in the History of the world.

In any case, we will see where we end up but the first step to stop these ideas will be the EU elections in May 2019 and to manage this you can vote on anything from the left ving to the right wing as long as the party you vote for not a part of the Liberal Group in the European Parliament.

Democracy

Woke up in France with a new Government in place in Sweden, 4 months after the election. A timeline unheard of in Swedish history and all caused by the fact that Sweden is a democracy which allows minor groups to influence the political roadmap. In the long run what now happened in Sweden just proofs my thesis that democracy is the best option but far from perfect.

Years ago, when the Arab spring took over the news and the western world, politicians, went crazy loving the fact that now democracy spread and wow what a fantastic bright future the world faced. From a European point of view the EU reacted like a kindergarten and leaders supported elections and and made thumbs up on social media in support to free elections, women’s rights, LGBT rights and free speech. Then when the free elections ended up in, from a western countries, not acceptable results he same politicians turned and all of a sudden “wrong” leaders were elected and the western leaders turned out to be against democracy if the people voted in their view in the wrong way.

Sweden, a country who let the rooster comb grow, as the perfect democracy just faced the same phenomenon. In the past election the “wrong” party grow to much and remember that Sweden is a small country so more than one million voters is a huge group voting for the nationalists. This fact made the “old” politic movements wake up to a reality they up until then put aside as an not possible option and gladly sacrificed the democracy to keep the power of the government.

All of a sudden the voters, whom up until now voted for them but changed to the nationalist was one thing and one thing only, racists. I don’t know how they in the past described those people, when they voted for the politicians that was considered as “the good once” cause it is the same voters, not racists voting 2014 but in 2018 a threat, racists and must be kept out of any decision making for the upcoming four years.

This truth ended up in what is the democratic systems problem, no one is satisfied with the outcome since in a panic mood the parties gladly broke all promises made during the election campaigns and new collaborations faced a Sweden who caused of this is a country now in line with many others “Democracy is fantastic as long as the people vote as the politicians want them too”.

So, and keep this in mind, the new Swedish Government, was put in place with 115 YES votes and 153 NO votes in the Parliament. All caused by the alliance of the Liberal movement and Communists all of a sudden working together. You read it correct Communist/Liberals Alliance. All to keep the third largest party out of power (third at the election now the second largest) cause they believe people voted wrong.

Have taste of this and let it sink in and you might end up in the same conclusion as I have done. Democracy might be the best option we have but its far from perfect when the people don’t vote as the politicians want them too.

A brave idea for Sweden

Let us vote.

As all the world know by now the Swedish election in September 2018 created a chaos and left us elected politicians with no plan and ready to break the promises made to the voters without any second thoughts just so they can rule.

To hear Swedish politicians at the moment… My God, it’s a politic in line with the fantastic UK classic comedy show “Yes Minister” and “Yes Mr Prime Minister” – They are clueless.

SO, since they can’t decide and are willing to sell their souls let us forget the risk of a re-election, no one want that, neither the politicians or the people of Sweden, and do something brave.

We know all people who voted in the election, let them decide by using the amazing little app called BANK ID. The same app who allows Swedes to do everything from logging in to official sites, do their tax return, pay bills and so on…

Use this app for identification and instead of a election just do a Gallup with two alternatives:

  • Do you want a right wing Prime Minister?
  • Do you want a left wing Prime Minister?

And then negotiate after the result from the Gallup. Cause right now when the two candidates who lost the most in the election fight to be the Prime Minister it’s completely ridicule.

And why only the people who voted in the election? Cause they are the once created this situation and must have had an idea if they wanted a left or right wing leader…

I also think such a Gallup can keep up the % of the people who votes cause a new election will for sure not reach any “more than 90%” cause right now politicians in Sweden have lost all their credit with the people…

So let’s gallup

Sweden – Election on Sunday

National election 2018

The election on Sunday in Sweden might be the most exciting election in modern times in Sweden. But it might also be a “same procedure” since Swedes more or less always protest in polls before an election and then crawl back to the mother ship.

But who knows it might be a new era for Sweden. We, who lives/lived in Sweden the past 50 – 40 years, know that the picture of Sweden abroad is 100% based on the good years which ended early in the early 90s. Today Sweden is more like other European countries high unemployment, problems with immigration and so on.

On the more social side Swedes are as always a bit rude, shy before you learn to know them and panic if they not a part of a pack. Alone? Stand out? Take control of your own life and decisions? NO! And a part of the Swedish herd thinking is that Swedes are one of the most, by the state, controlled citizens.

Might sound a bit hard cause life is easy and nice in Sweden and I love my birth country but I think the world need to change the views on Sweden to in full understand whats happening now with the upcoming election.

So on Monday morning we will know the result from Sundays election and a few days before… Let me guess that the Nationalist party will gain votes since last but far away from what’s been in the polls, The Social democrats will most likely end up with more votes than expected based on polls. The alliance (for right wing parties) influence on politics in the future is 100% depending on the Christ democrats manage to pass the 4% they need to stay in the parliament.

And Moi? ah, I have already voted since I live abroad and the last day for us was early this week – and without giving any clues on what I finally decided it was without a doubt an easier task to know who I won’t vote for then the once I liked and decide between them.

The picture? Oh yes, my colleague though UNICORN and ended up in an office pride celebration…

Duty done

My duty as a Swede done.

What a day. Dentist and then off to the Embassy to vote (so now done) and the only thing expected to be done today but the rain put a stop to it (the haircut).

In any case, my first visit to the Swedish Embassy in Paris passed just fine. And I have voted, as said before very easy to say who I won’t vote for but the once still in the race made it harder. So ended up to vote in the same way as the last five elections.

Some Politics and Motorsport

On Instagram Mr Bali took a stand for Motorsport

Hanif Bali, one of the more successful politicians on Social media in Sweden (mainly on Twitter) took a stand for motor sport on his Instagram Account today. And at the same time gave some political comments on the Swedish Government and their policy against driving and Motor Sport.

The main issue been the Green party, Miljöpartiet, in Sweden and their latest comment that families who travel to huge supermarkets outside the city centers to save some money when they do their weekly shopping can take their bikes to do so. So they want to put a fee for cars to park outside those Supermarkets.

The same thing with driving in the cities with a diesel vehicle. If you don’t, as the leader of the party, sometimes drive heavy rocks, then it’s OK to drive diesel.

The same party, also introduced the flight tax in Sweden but use Business class when they fly. For me not a huge issue cause if you sit in the Government flying coach might be a nightmare. But as someone said: “Its not that they fly Business Class that’s the problem. Tjhe problem is that they want to forbid others to fly at all.”
