New update from Apple

New update, always means a lot of new stuff to learn to love, but as always some things always makes you go crazy. I had almost, almost decided to go for AppleMusic and upgrade. Even if I know I have to sit and re tag my complete music library – then came “Big Sur”.

I don’t care much if Apple change things that’s not important to me. Yes, selfish in date way. And iTunes is my holy grail and with the Big Sur update a lot of strange stuff all of a sudden happens.

First the thing that iTunes have its own life and jump between playlists without asking for it, and the red colors popping up all the time in the fields when you try to search or when copy a file to mp3 format album covers just dissaperes from the files. Again Apple try to force their customers to subscribe to Apple music. But I don’t stream music, thank you very much.

And the the two mystery files popping up every time and connect my phone to my laptop. Or the files they can’t find. Not description or name of the files, just the message you can see on the image above.

I loved computers when I told the computer what to do, now its the opposite the computer decide for you.

I wish Apple genius made house calls, I gladly pay for one to stay a few hours to put all devices together as I want it. Not what Apple want me to do.

And again Apple, when start to subscribe on Apple Music put a little tick box somewhere saying “Don’t change tags and don’t convert existing mp3 files”

Keep busy in Corona times

I am not a big gamer and 99% of all computer games kind of stay outside my circle of interest. You hunt monsters or shoot people like it was no tomorrow. So boring.

But when I still used PC (before I transformed to a higher level and got my first MAC) there were some games I really liked and now in Corona times I have so much free time on my hand that I look at them again, the old discs just standing there screaming “Play me, Play me”. And I can see me again going into the play mood every evening and weekend to build a world, pop group, hotel or make a movie.

So it is a huge “WTF” that all of them can only be played on PC. So now I turn to you out there and try to find similar games or if the games I love actually can be bought in a MAC version.

The two first games I look for in a MAC version, or similar games are:

Pop Star and Zoo Tycoon

The first 2, as I remember them, was fund… But not my first choices of games. So I can survive if I don’t find them, but I did like them. “Zoo Tycoon” and “Pop Star Academy”

Movies and Hollywood Picture
The Movies and Hollywood Pictures

Both two huge favorites and really fun games to build up your movie studio fighting money and hysterical actors. If any of them is out there in MAC versions or new similar games please send me the info and I will buy / buy download them.

Caesar and Casino Empire

OH God, I once upon a time bought Caesar and then followed the series of games until the last one I have, number IV. I love this game, even if I think they could have taken out the power of the Gods to destroy your cities. I remember me sitting at home all night playing Caesar, thinking I just done it for an hour or two but in reality I missed out nights of sleep cause I was in the middle of building a bath house when the alarm went of and it was time to wake up.

So if Caesar still out there and in a MAC version, give it to me… I also played the Casino Empire a lot, not as much as Caesar but I enjoyed it.

Diplomacy and Geo-Political Simulation

And so to the favorites, Geo-Political Simulator and Diplomacy, especially Diplomacy, and again or similar games for MAC. I love geo-politcal games and really want to find them again or get suggestions on similar games.

So if you are a gamer and like the same kind of games as I do please let me know by using the contact form or share this post with people you know like games, and as you understand I prefer simulation games, not shoot and pang pang games.

Have a nice day peeps

On the edge to jump into a music file tagging nightmare

Apple Music / iTunes Match

First, if any Apple person don’t like that I use this image, please let me know, i will change it.

So, after chatting with the iTunes support at Apple it seems clear that my worries to finally update to iTunes Match and/or Apple Music was true and it will take a huge amount of time to fix the music library if I subscribe.

But since I really want the service it might be the only way, even if the “only way” will render weeks of restoring the tag system I have in place.

I wished for Apple to admit that I’m not the only one with a huge music library who wait and wait for some kind of solution, like when you first start to subscribe and upload a large amount of files to have the options

1. I’d like to match all files

2. Only upload mp3 files without iTunes Match

This should really benefit Apple cause anal music files tagging persons like me reject the service or even more for a DJ with a large collection tagged for his or her work… They not going to use the service and go bananas over the changes of the tagging and must redo it fast.

In any case, I want to subscribe so I might need to take deep breath and with horror watch the files change names, genre, album name, artist name (mainly an issue when the artists have names in Arabic, Russian, Chinese etc) – yes I think about it… Scary.

Or, I wonder if I can create a second library and just use one of them for the cloud service. That way its possible to upload in sections, just though of this. WOW, new mail to the support 🙂
